MATTAMAYURA - PAITHANIS

The forest of Dandak is rich with flora and fauna which is the inspiration behind the Paithanis. The West came to this part searching for the precious weaves of India, this resulted in a boomimg trade. The craft was further patronised by the Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas and the Marathas. This style is highly developed today, because of its long history.

During monsoon, the nature celebrates and welcomes the peacocks which dance and celebrate to welcome the grey, dark and dense rain bearing clouds.

We at Discoverdiva, introduce Paithanis which also dances to the rhythm of thunder and lightening.
